Racing / One Design
One Design.
Fair Racing Starts
with Fair Sails.
Our Approach
Keeping Keelboat Racing Accessible.
One design racing is different from handicap racing. Instead of developing an innovative wardrobe, you are working within what the class allows, usually one mainsail, a couple of headsails, one spinnaker, and so on. The whole point is that everyone races on a level playing field.
Why It Matters
More Boats on the Start Line.
We want younger boat owners to be able to run campaigns with competitive new sails instead of being limited to secondhand sails that are already a season old or simply not being able to compete at all. By making sails accessible, we increase regatta attendance and help keep one design classes alive. These niche one design keelboat classes all around the world that are 20 to 50 years old and still racing locally. Let’s keep those classes going
Class Partnerships
Let US Work with Your Class.
If you are a member of a one design class and you want accessible sails for your fleet, we will work with your class association to develop a wardrobe and set accessible pricing for the whole class. The goal is simple, make it possible for people in the class to afford sails and keep their boats going.
